I heard about this book one day while listening to the Radio 2 book club on Simon Mayo’s show. Patrick Ness was in talking about it.
The thing that caught my, I guess ear, was this idea that the book opens with a character drowning, maybe is it slightly macabre of me but I thought to myself I kind of need to see where this is going.
Does he really wake up? Does he really drown? Is this going to be a book about what heaven is like? these were all questions running through my mind as I started on the book.
I have said before I am not the world best reader. I am often a very slow reader however this book was a page-turner, while it was a slow start for me once I got going I, for me, motored through the book.

So my thoughts on the More Than This by Patrick Ness.
- Was this always the case that when you die in the dream world you wake up?
- Is heaven just a state of walking up from the battery farm of daily life?
- Did they manage to kill the guard or will more come
- What other memories will come to Seth
- What will happen next to Seth and
I really did enjoy the book despite it leaving me with more questions than answers, it was well written and easy to read. While I think the target audience was late teen it also an interesting book for an adult to read. I Really hope this is the first book in a series but maybe it was always meant to leave us hanging.
